We Just Made Wonderfeel CBD Even Better with these 6 Supporting Cannabinoids & Key Terpenes

When it comes to cannabinoids, most people have heard all about CBD and THC. But cannabis produces a number of intriguing minor cannabinoids that are unique to the plant alone, and they have therapeutic benefits of their own. So we’ve upped the supportive cannabinoid profile in our formulas and added native terpenes to the mix. Here’s how six supporting cannabinoids and a few key terpenes are making Wonderfeel CBD better than ever.

Just as nature intended.

Around here, ensuring that our formulas deliver all the benefits of the entourage effect is the goal. And when you start with an exceptional harvest and don’t mess too much with what nature has created, you end up with a CBD product that’s so much more than just CBD.

It’s an interesting time to be in the CBD market. The industry exploded so rapidly, with so many companies focusing entirely on rushing CBD products to the market, that priorities have become a little skewed. Many farmers and companies are prioritizing rapid growth and high CBD concentrations, and they’re doing so without paying much attention to things like soil quality or strains with high cannabinoid and terpene profiles. But that’s where the real benefits lie. Truly rich hemp extracts are hard to find, and using these harvests to create our Wonderfeel formulas elevates our products — just ask our customers.

...start with an exceptional harvest and don’t mess too much with what nature has created...

We researched countless farms and analyzed multiple harvests to find CBD with remarkable cannabinoid and terpene profiles. Once we did, we specifically boosted CBG levels, particularly in our Anytime and Daytime formulas, dialed down CBN to minimize any possible sedative effects, and added key native terpenes to give you three distinct options. Whatever you’re hoping to achieve, we have a CBD formula for the job.

Our Daytime formula is an extra-strength option with 1,350 mg of broad-spectrum CBD. A balanced, diverse terpene profile with a high ratio of caryophyllene and 100 mg of CBG, among other minor cannabinoids, strikes an ideal balance of calm focus. This is the formula to use when you have a lengthy to-do list staring you in the face.

Our Anytime formula is a mellower option, with 500 mg of broad-spectrum CBD, 200 mg of CBG, plus a mix of native terpenes – heavy on the pinene and rounded out with myrcene – and minor cannabinoids. It’s formulated for a balanced, even effect — exactly what you need to smooth the bumps in your day.

Our Evening formula is a concentrated option designed for calming the body and mind. It’s made with 1,350 mg of broad-spectrum CBD and carefully-chosen cannabinoids, like CBDV, CBC, and CBL, plus native terpenes known for their calming properties (bisabolol, we’re talking about you). Relax, unwind, or slip into sleep mode — this is the formula for the job.

Let’s take a closer look.

They may not be present in huge amounts, but lesser-known cannabinoids are making their presence known all the same. If you want to understand how a whole-plant CBD oil might work, the best place to start is with a working knowledge of the plant’s minor cannabinoids and terpenes.

Note that it’s historically been difficult — and expensive — to isolate these compounds from the plant, so research is still limited. Still, what researchers are uncovering is already exciting.

CBG, or cannabigerol.

CBGA is colloquially known as the “mother of all cannabinoids,” so that gives you an idea of its importance. This precursor cannabinoid breaks down into THCA, CBDA, and CBCA, which eventually become — you guessed it — THC, CBD, and CBC. CBGA also breaks down into CBG.

Like CBD, CBG is non-intoxicating, so it won’t make you feel high. Researchers believe that both cannabinoids interact with the same receptors in the body’s endocannabinoid system. Potential benefits include:

• Reducing inflammation
• Appetite stimulation
• Anti-anxiety benefits

It may also improve symptoms of specific health conditions, from glaucoma and inflammatory bowel disease to bladder dysfunction, some kinds of cancer, and bacterial infections.

There’s a lot of buzz about CBG in the skincare world. There are fewer clinical studies at this time, but CBG is an antioxidant with antibacterial, antifungal, and humectant properties, which makes it pretty perfect for skincare. CBG helps skin cells retain the moisture they need to stay supple and aids in the production of sebum, a natural moisturizer that protects against premature aging. That’s why you’re seeing the ingredient popping up in face and body products designed to heal and hydrate.

CBN, or cannabinol.

Another non-intoxicating cannabinoid, CBN is created as THC ages. That means older plants tend to have higher amounts of CBN. Potential benefits of CBN include:

• Antibacterial properties
• Pain Management
• Anti-inflammatory benefits
• Neuroprotectant properties

Here’s where things get “Wow!” — CBN was shown to offer relief in fibromyalgia, arthritis and other chronic conditions based on an animal study. Additionally, a combined cocktail of CBD and CBN were more effective in easing pain.

While studying CBN as a brain protector, researchers in 2005 found that using just 5 mg per day for 12 weeks delayed the onset of ALS. All three Wonderfeel formulas contain a good measure of CBN, as you can see from our test results.

CBC, or cannabichromene.

This interesting little cannabinoid is quite rare, and it shares the non-intoxicating properties of other phytocannabinoids on this list. In addition to anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and anti-viral properties, CBC may be helpful in the following ways:

• Managing daily stress
• Boosting mood
• Minimizing sluggishness

Another potential benefit of CBC is its ability to treat skin inflammation, which may make it useful for people dealing with acne. It’s also being explored as a way to manage pain.

CBT, or cannabitriol.

CBT is still being studied, but there is some evidence that it’s one of the main cannabinoids that decreases the psychoactive effects of THC. It also plays a role in the entourage effect by amplifying the benefits of CBD. But it’s not found in all cannabis plants, and it’s usually present in very small amounts.

One animal study found CBT may end up functioning as a useful treatment for glaucoma, as it effectively reduces pressure in the eyes.

CBDV, or cannabidivarin.

CBDV is largely being explored for its potential role in helping people with neurological disorders, epilepsy, and seizures. It’s another non-intoxicating cannabinoid, and it’s found in trace amounts in certain strains. CBDV also has anti-nausea properties and it’s being explored for its potential as a therapy in mood disorders and obsessive compulsive behavior.

CBL, or cannabicyclol.

This cannabinoid is also found in trace amounts, and it actually starts as CBC. When CBC is exposed to oxygen and light, it gradually converts to CBL. Its role is believed to be synergetic, benefiting and boosting the other compounds in the plant.

The terpene players.

Terpenes – those aromatic compounds responsible for all the distinctive fragrances and flavors not only in cannabis but in almost all plants – play a fascinating role in cannabis. Not only do terpenes impart their own unique benefits, they also up the therapeutic ante in synergy with the plant’s cannabinoids. By boosting the amount of key native terpenes, we’ve made the Wonderfeel formulas better than ever.

Pinene is found in conifers – plants that have cones

• Pinene. No surprise here – pinene smells a lot like a pine-filled forest. It’s the most common terpene, found in everything from orange peels and conifer trees to herbs like dill, basil, and parsley. It’s known for its anti-inflammatory, anti-anxiety, and pain-relief benefits.

• Caryophyllene. What do black pepper, cloves, and cinnamon have in common? A certain spicy warmth, right? It’s all due to the caryophyllene. This is the only terpene that masquerades as a cannabinoid, binding to CB2 receptors and delivering anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antibacterial, and antioxidant benefits. It’s been shown to relieve anxiety and pain, treat seizures, and reduce cholesterol, among other impressive qualities.

• Bisabolol. This terpene can also be found in chamomile – you know, the stuff you sip on at night to help you wind down for bed? In addition to its signature sweet, floral fragrance and relaxing effects, bisabolol has a number of therapeutic properties. Studies have found it contributes to overall well-being and reduces symptoms of both depression and insomnia.

• Myrcene. This is another common terpene, and it’s typically associated with hops. Myrcene is also found in lemongrass, mango, and thyme and it’s earned a reputation for its calming, anti-anxiety, and pain-relieving effects.

• Limonene. As you may have guessed, this terpene is characterized by its signature citrus fragrance. Limonene is known for its stress and anxiety-relieving properties.

Together, these and other terpenes and minor cannabinoids enhance the effects of the more well-known compounds in the cannabis plant. After all, doesn’t it make sense that the compounds in the cannabis plant work better as a whole, no matter how minute they may be? All of the minor cannabinoids and terpenes serve a purpose, even if specifics are still being determined, and our enhanced formulas pair them with key activators to maximize CBD’s effects. In a nutshell, it means the three Wonderfeel CBD formulas you know and love work better than ever. But don’t take our word for it – pick a formula and test it out yourself!
